Porto da Barra
Found in a cove of calm and clean water, this historic and picturesque
location witnessed the arrival of our city's founder, Tomé
de Souza. Today, Porto da Barra's true cosmopolitan ambience and

Farol da Barra
As the first lighthouse to have been constructed in the Americas,
the Farol da Barra is a striking centerpoint in Barra's landscape
and history. Offering picture-postcard views, this area is perfect
for sun lovers and surfers. Inside the Farol, visitors can learn
more about Salvador's past in the museum, and enjoy the magnificent
views of Barra and the Baía de Todos os Santos from the café
and restaurants terrace.
Ondina
With its sports complex and rock-scupted natural pools, the beach
is an excellent choice for fun and leisure for visitors of any age.
Ondina boasts of some of the best hotels and 200 fine restaurants.
It's little wonder, then, why the governor's official residece is
located in this very neighborhood.

Morro do Cristo
Forming the third tip of Barra's Triangle, together with the Farol
da Barra and Bahia's oldest fort, the Forte de Santo Antonio da
Barra, this dramatic statue gazes out at splendid ocean views.
Barravento Beach
It's located in Barra. Not only does this charming neighborhood
offer stunning views, restaurants and shopping, but it's also part
of the principal circuit of the Carnival in Bahia.
Itaparica
Another "must see" is the island of Itaparica. Situated
10,5 miles from Salvador, the island is the biggest of 56 islands
in the Baía de Todos os Santos. |
